Hi, I've sent an email to FG support, but I thought I'd try here as well in case anyone can help me as I was hoping to use a new module to run in a few hours.
I just bought a new module for FG from the DMs Guild, Mini-Dungeons 1: CAVES - 3-in-1 adventure bundle (Fantasy Grounds)
https://www.dmsguild.com/product/225694/MiniDungeons-1-CAVES--3in1-adventure-bundle-Fantasy-Grounds
It came with instructions that to install it I had to go to my FG settings and put in my forum username and password and click Update. When I went into settings, and then into Manage Purchases, I discovered I could now link my Steam Purchases and my Paizo purchases, but there is nothing there for the DMs Guild, and I purchased directly from them and not from Steam.
I also tried putting the module directly into my FG modules folder, but it is not showing up in the library modules.
Is there a way I can use this purchase?

Yea, those instructions sound wrong... Given that it has Rob's name on it though I'm surprised. Maybe the instructions are talking about the FG license or something...
Anyway, what you want to do is to open your FG Data folder, the easiest way to do this is to click the folder icon on the FG launch screen. This will open a windows explorer inside your FG Data folder. Inside there you should have multiple folders, you want to open one called "modules" (create it if it doesn't exist). Copy the .mod file into that folder then close the windows explorer and continue into your campaign.
Inside the campaign, load the module by going to Library > Modules.

Unfortunately I've already tried that and it doesn't show up in the library modules, so I still can't access it. I was wondering if it was some sort of nested file given that it has 3 modules in it, so I copied it to another folder, changed the extension from .mod to .zip and opened it, but all there was inside was a couple of xml files and a lot of jpgs. No further .mod files. Not sure what to do now; I've sent an email to FG support, but I doubt they'll get back to me in time.

okay ... apparently it just had to be done the magic number of 3 times before it consented to load into the library modules. Beats me why. Thank you for your help anyway.

It might also be you needed to restart Fantasy Grounds - it only reads the modules directory once when loading the library. If you add modules files after you start your FG campaign the module activation screen won't see them.

Need to restart FG to see the new module.

After you put a new module into the modules folder, you have to restart FG; did you do that?

Thank you all, yes I did, it just needed me to do it several times :)

I have recently purchased Rob2e's sounds for Dulux Oz's awesome DOE sound extension...
https://www.dmsguild.com/product/214602/Fantasy-Grounds-Sounds
I have downloaded & copied the file into my modules folder, have rebooted FG a dozen times (including several PC boots) and the .mod file still refuses to appear in the library.
Any ideas?

Check there isn't a .mpg extension on the end of the downloaded file. This has been reported recently for some DMs Guild downloads.

There are only a few instances where it won't show up.
It's in the wrong directory
Your using a game system that's not supported
You changed the extension name and didn't restart FG.
Maybe you could hop onto the FantasyGrounds College discord server and have somebody help you LIVE.

My other thought is that the ruleset doesn't support it - trying to use it for PFRPG.
maybe its only for 5e... has anyone else used it with Pathfinder ruleset?

Look in the definition.xml file. What rulesets is it tagged for?

Yep looks like thats why...
<author>Rob Twohy (rob2e)</author>
<ruleset>5E</ruleset>
Oh well, may get some use out of it if I eventually start playing 5e...

Change it to PFRPG - the auto sounds might not work fully. See what you get! ;-)

DMs Guild can ONLY be 5e D&D, that is all that is allowed on it.
