I would *REALLY* love to see Fantasy Grounds run on the new Playtable platform coming out!
I am really excited for this product that is supposed to be released later this year.
I totally see the Playtable platform as a *PERFECT* Fantasy Grounds compliment!

I hope this gets serious consideration. :)

Welcome to the forums, or at least your first post :)
It's actually not very advanced. 24" screen at 1080p is pretty poor quality and too small for most maps. Given that it uses Android OS, it might be compatible after FGU comes out. $600 is not too bad, but I could run FG on a on a 55" 4K TV ($320) (https://jet.com/product/detail/0a30ae2d37184c508f64a260d1c95608?jcmp=pla:ggl:elec tronics_catch_all:lm_all_products:na:PLA_786522865 _41201423436_pla-291598648533_c:na:na:na:2PLA15&code=PLA15&pid=kenshoo_int&c=786522865&is_retargeting=true&clickid=9625ecca-e493-4aa2-9d62-e3bbddbbb8a6&gclid=Cj0KCQjwnfLVBRCxARIsAPvl82F277S-pr0EzfcxnHtOw0PRT54I8pXr403P2jLEcZOCvXpCzWI97AgaAq CkEALw_wcB)and a stick computer ($120 (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-vivostick-pc-ts10-streaming-media-player-black/5833708.p?skuId=5833708&ref=212&loc=1&gclid=CJnt4tLfktoCFczkfgodK6sPkA&gclsrc=ds)) for much less. For an RPG play surface, I think most people would want to reproduce a printed 24x30" map and that takes something like a 44" screen.

@LordEntrails
Thanks!
WAAAH!! Totally crushed my dreams, dude! LOL! I kinda see that. I guess the tokens would have to be software tokens and there would be lots of scrolling on the map. BTW, I like your avatar! I used to see the D&D cartoon as a kid! LOL! Frack, I am old! BTW, what's is FGU?

Didn't want to crush your dreams :)
There are several posts around here and elsewhere showing people putting TV's in the middle of a table (cut out, built around, or laid on top) and then using mini's with them. So you can go either way. The Playtable is cool because it's so small, but I like big!
You can Google "Digital Game Table" to see lots of examples, plus you check check ou tht thread on the forums here where their is actually a community extension that helps use FG as a digital table; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?33834-Map-resize-to-TV-resolution-for-Face-To-Face-games
FGU is Fantasy Grounds Unity, the unofficial or development name for the upcoming re-architecture of FG. SmiteWorks has been working on porting/re-writing FG into a new platform that uses the Unity Engine. Though initially FGU is only planned for Windows, Mac, Linux? support, Unity platform can be used on phones and tablets and lots of other O/S's as well. You can search the forums here or even You Tube for some technology demos. Or you can read the 70+ pages of this thread :) https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?22089-Fantasy-Grounds-Unity-engine/page71
In short, no announced date for FGU. SW won't announce a date until they are within about 3 months of release. Initial release is only promised to have all current functionality, be able to use the existing DLC, and have a better networking architecture. But, the Unity platform has a great many advanced capabilities that we might see in FG.
