Just curious if anyone has run a game using this setting? Did you add in the magic stuff or go straight historical?

The last game I ran with it, I had the PCs with a couple of magic items, but the villains were the ones actually casting magic. In this case there was a sorcerer that was in league with demonic elements. The party had to go hunt him down and remove the curse on the hamlet they promised to protect. I run it a lot closer to the Robin of Sherwood tv series. I have run it purely historical before as well, where the magic in the game is just superstition and was found out to be something else entirely. Something closer to the Cadfael mysteries. I think it works well either way, its all dependent on what the GM wants to do with the setting. Its in my list of top five settings, but full disclaimer... my name is on the book.
