got to luv the good ol days.:D Thought I'd add a little nostalgia by scanning my old book cover's for the icons too. Hope ppl aren't too afraid to modify this software cause it has alot of potential. I've done quite a bit in one month off and on.

First off, I gotta give credit where it's due. I didn't code this sheet, it's just a tweaked version of Bakshara's CRS, all I did was change the sheet graphics, font size, and modified the layout to fit my player's style. They wanted something more like an original character sheet, minus the original sheet's ugly green background.

All in all, this is turning out to be a decent ruleset but at this time only includes information from the PHB and DMG. It could easlily be expanded on by using all the sourcebooks. BTW how much info is too much info in a ruleset? Or is there such a thing?

Looks pretty good, too busy for my tastes, but to each his own. One thing I would look at is the text colors for the chat. Other than that, looking good!

I've tried to keep it as streamlined as possible, but the other goal was to make plenty of info available in the ruleset so players don't have to spend too much time flippin through the books. I have alot of the windows open in the screenshots to give an idea of what info is available.

Ok, of the D&D systems out there, AD&D 2ed was my absolute favorite. My longest running campaign ever was run in 2ed. I would love to get my hands on this ruleset when it is finished. If you are going to run a game, please let me know. If you need somone to run a game, please let me know.

Well I managed to complete all of the coding for the wizard spells last night, now just need to finish the priest spells.:D
I gotta say though it can be very tedious at times entering all this info.

It is a beutiful piece of work no doubt. The bookpages look JUST like our old books that was in the barn for a couple of years since we focused on other games. Would have been a HECK of a mood enhancer if the system in question wasn't modern day Sci-Fi...

Sure, I can make it available, I'll even remove the AD&D logo so it can be used in another ruleset. You guys can email me if you want and I can get it to you that way.:cool: I've been Slooooowly changing up the graphics and couldn't pass up making this into the reference background. Overkill??? Of course, not everything is lined up yet, just getting an idea of where I want everything located on the sheet. Wondering if I should keep the psionics stuff since this is more of a generic AD&D 2e ruleset, but I'm kinda cluless as to what else I should put there.

Wow, this looks great. I have to say that part of the reason I'm running my current campaign in 3.5 is that tools for 2e are a bit scarce for my tastes, I just might have to switch because this project would, I think, go a LONG way in that regard. Any idea when it might be done? (core books done, anyway).
Also, I might be willing to do some of the heavy lifting. My data entry is good but I'm totally new to XML (pretty familiar with HTML though). Could always have me do a set of info and then check to make sure I didn't screw it up ;) Anyway if you're interested just send me a PM and we could figure something out.
Thanks for the work, really looking forward to this.

Most of the ruleset is finished and includes most information from the PHB and some from the DMG. The character sheet is where I'm currently hung up on. Since there is an overwhelming amount of supplemental stuff for 2e, my intent wasn't to code it all in. I just wanted to get the core rules system into FG. As far as a list of things to do, just have 2 more levels of cleric spells to enter and I recently changed how the proficiency descriptions are accessed. I think I also need to create the general equipment table, then the ruleset should be good to go. As far as the supplemental info, it could easily be added at a later date for campaign specific info. I forgot last night to post my ideas on the char sheet question:
Psionics seems to me also something that you probably don't need, though I'm sure anyone who uses them would appreciate their inclusion. Moreover I'm having a hard time coming up with suggestions of what might go well in its place.
My first suggestion is multiclass and dualclass support, but for all I know you may have that well built in, it's mostly just hard to tell from only seeing the pngs. If the experience/level areas you already have are suitable for multi- and dual-classes (if I remember right 3 classes is the max allowed?) that's obviously not a concern.
The same thing applies for the spell numbers area. If that can accomodate a wizard/priest combo (IE "1st: 4/3 2nd:2/3 3rd: 1/1" for a W5/P5) you're all set, if not that would be something to add, but I can't tell which is the case from the PNG alone.
Fiend turning from the Guide to Hell supplement might be another option to go along with the undead table, but is very supplemental in nature obviously.
Expanding the Class/Kit area might be an option, as I could see people running out of space if they have a large number of special abilities, especially if the player's option rules for traits and disadvantages are used.
Finally and IMO the most viable, I didn't see a racial abilities section, which might be helpful. Of course these could be included in the Special Abilities section as it is, but that would exacerbate any problems with space people might have as a result of a large number of class abilities.
Honestly, though, I don't see anything that screams at me to be put in, but I figured I'd offer a few options I see if you want to take psionics out.
