So after your party selects portraits and tokens for their adventurer, how do they get an associated token on the map for non combat movement. If I drag their token from their character sheet anyone can move it and it doesn't show any association. So far I can only get an associating during combat.

Thanks

Always drag the PC token from the combat tracker to the map. This will give the association between the PC sheet and the token.

Any of the players or the GM will be able to move the token. If you want to restrict token movement and approve moves indicated by the players, first lock the token movement: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Tokens#Movement

Hey Clunar

The golden rule for using Fantasy Grounds is: Add PCs and NPCs to the Combat Tracker and drag them from the Combat tracker to the Map. This sets up the associations correctly. However - the steps for Encounters is slightly different.

Players can move their own and Allied tokens on the map.
You can lock Token movement and this will stop them moving other tokens - and then you will have to approve each move.
Generally your players will stop fiddling with things so much once they get used to it and the ooooh-shiny wears off somewhat.

Okay so from the start place them in the CT then drag them to map to start the game?

Thanks
