One of the things that I love about Xanathar's is that it has encounter tables for environments, but when I loaded up the tables on FG to my dismay much of them are not built properly (see screenshot). Some of the encounters lack linked entries and only describe the encounter- for example on the image below if you roll a 87 you get [Elemental or Pudding]. This means that if you roll on the table and get one of these entries you then have to build the encounter yourself (which takes time at the table).

The square brackets around a name mean that is another table. So [Elemental or Pudding] means that if that entry comes up it will roll on the Elemental or Pudding table to provide the final encounter details. See the example here for more info on nested tables: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Tables#Random_Treasure_Table
