Using the D&D 5e Ruleset. I was doing some work for our next adventure and was messing around with the mechanics of the Frost Giant The Everlasting One and it is supposed to heal 10 hp at the start of it's turn unless it takes acid or fire damage. The issue I am having is that when it takes the damage it says that the healing effect is disabled, and when I look at the combat tracker and hover over the effect button it does in fact say to skip the effect once. However the effect is still being used at the start of the monsters turn. I can manually turn the effect off and of course this would work, but if there is a way to get it to work properly I would appreciate any body's input.
