Help with error message

Why am I getting this Error Loading Data message?

Ruleset:
error: Unable to load Ruleset (base.xml)
Do you want to try reloading the data?

I can click yes repeatedly with no change, clicking no results in a return to desktop.

Can anyone tell me what's up?

trying to use the Castles and Crusades ruleset I bought.

What OS are you on? What were you doing before you got this error? Have you tried creating a new campaign in C&C?

Welcome to the forums dachda.

Either the Castles and Crusades ruleset, or the underlying CoreRPG ruleset can't be loaded.

Open FG and click on the folder icon in the top right corner. Go to the rulesets directory and delete Castles and Crusades.pak and CoreRPG.pak then run a FG update. If you don't see Castles and Crusades.pak in the rulesets directory then make sure you have entered your FG username and password (and logged in) in the FG Settings -> Manage window.

I tried an update earlier tonight and it seemed to work, but apparently I was wrong. I went into settings and I entered my password and then ran update again, it downloaded the new C&C updates,(and a bunch others) and then C&C opened up normally for me. Thanks for the responses. Trenloe your mention of the password was the help I needed.
