d20 Modern SRD (MSRD) Beta Released

Ok, it is still a work in progress, but about 95% of the SRD has been entered and 80% of the graphics are complete in this beta version. This is the Modern SRD created by Doswelk and discussed elsewhere on this forum. When complete (hopefully very soon), this Modern SRD will be released in a final version for FREE on the FUM site. Until then, please download and test, let us know of any problems you have.

I looked through the rule set today and told Snikle about the smallest errors I could find.

Even with some worked being needed, the rule set seems really well made and I really like how Doswelk organized the information in it.

Just uploaded latest update to the d20 Modern SRD, it is nearly complete at this stage and should be fully playable.

Here are the planned releases for the D20 Modern Ruleset.

Please note this is not to be confused with the "The Complete d20 Modern SRD" also seems to be known as D20MSRD!

There are three planned releases:

D20 Modern 0.85 Beta (all of D20 Modern and half of arcana)
D20 Modern 0.9 Beta (all of D20 Modern and Arcana)
D20 Modern 1.0 (0.9 plus all of future)

0.85 should be released soon at FUM (as soon as snikle finishes some graphic touches).

0.85 includes an updated version of the character sheet, these changes have been done in a way as to not break any characters that have already been entered using version 0.7 or 0.8!

The plan is to release these early and allow feed back on problems.

The D20 modern ruleset found on my Yahoo groups will not be updated (basically because every time I try to upload it Yahoo times me out).

Has anyone had problems with this ruleset? I downloaded the beta version and unpacked it in my rulesets folder. When I run Fantasy Grounds and choose to create a local character using d20 Modern, the program crashes fatally (with Microsoft error report). I thought it might be the space in folder name, so I changed it to d20-Modern and also changed it in XML files wherever my search found that string in. It still crashed. :(

I'd like to see how it (the ruleset) looks like, but I just can't get it to run.

Oh, I downloaded it just once, the last version that was posted on FUM forums. May it be the cause? Maybe I should download previous versions and keep downloading the next ones, overwriting files? I've seen something like that written on FUM.

Seems to work now, huh. It was like I have written above. ;) But I managed to crash FG opening help (blank page) and right clicking on it.

Yeah, until we release ver 1.0 you must download all the files on the thread, in order and overwrite any files you are alerted too. Sorry for making it complicated, but if we did it a diferrernt way the you would have to download the 2.5 meg ruleset everytime. When 1.0 is released (hopefully soon) you wil just download the entire thing and overwrite any file alerts that pop up.
And oh yeah, ignore that HELP/Shortcuts button in the right top corner....need to put a warning on that thing, cannot get that to function correctly. That Help will probably be removed in the final version, unless God parts the heavens and sheds some light on it. In the meantime, the Shortcuts are under the rules secion, on the right, near the bottom.

I can't appraise it, I just opened a few windows to see how this looks like. ;D I'd like to play some d20 Future game, but w/o magic, something on a spaceship maybe. I don't know d20 Modern.

I like how the windows look, though. Are there rulebooks for d20 Modern? Are there campaign settings?

This is strictly d20 Modern (will have arcana and future ogl stuff when it is complete) and a themeing of it to appear more modern. We do not at this time, plan a setting to go along with it.

I've have just sent to FUM the updated database with all the spells completed.

Once they are posted on the FUM, Arcana is almost finished!

Just FX items creatures and future to go!

Doswelk has added some missing feats, and added the advanced / prestige classes. Also included is an up to date screenshot of the ruleset in action.

I have just posted version 0.99 of the D20 Modern Ruleset to Snikle to post on FUM (So do not rush over there all at once it won't be there yet!)

Before we can release it as version 1.0 I need to find the bugs....

So here's where you guys come in, anyone who has used the ruleset any problems or requests now is the time to add them....
