View Full Version : Ongoing Area of Effect spells represented on a map

I did a search and couldn't find anything related. Some spells have an ongoing AoE effect, like Fog Cloud or Evard's Black Tentacles. Is there a way to represent these on the map besides drawing a pointer? Something more thematic?

Thanks,

Look for Spell Tokens in the DMS Guild.

Be careful, the last time I looked some of those were pretty large file sizes for simple tokens. Don't know if that was addressed or not.

Additionally if you are going to be using those you will likely need this extension (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20231-Enhanced-Images-%28layers%29-for-FG-3-0-CoreRPG-%28and-rulesets-based-on-CoreRPG%29). Otherwise you'll have problems selecting tokens.

I usually just drop a circular pointer on the map as a reminder. It’s easy to do.

I use those tokens without the layers extension. Sometimes it causes slight issues, but for the most part they were done very well with transparencies so generally token stacking issues don't happen. If anything, it's sometime too hard to select the tokens when you want because of the extensive transparencies used.

I use them all the time. Just be sure to click on the token art themselves instead of the generic token area and they are not hard to use.
