Ammo usage question

Good Day All :)
While playing my Rouge that uses a shortbow primarily. I noted that if I drag the attack from my Actions tab to a Hotkey it will not register ammo usage on the actions tab like it does if I just drag to the chat or double click. Is this normal of do I need to set it differently for a Hotkey?

Once you put it on your HotKey it is orphaned. It is a valid roll etc but it no longer picks up or makes changes to your characater sheet.
