Hey, fellow geeks and ghouls!
Halloween just passed and I typically play a Halloween-themed D&D game. Alas, no one wanted to stay up all night and hunt vampires...
I am gonna go for it again. I haven't been able to play in a while, so I need a D&D fix ;)
I've extracted the essence of the Curse of Strahd adventure, had my way with it, and turned it into a faster pace "horror" episode.
I plan to run it more "Theater of the Mind" so your imaginations aren't limited by the game maps. I feel like this will add a little sense of tension and possibly personal subconscious fears to the game.
I'm picturing a tense, survival game... you've become trapped in a nightmare and have to find your way out!

You can't remember the last time you felt the warmth of the sun upon your skin...
Every settlement you've encountered has been nothing more than a ghost town or a hive of zombies, ghouls, or worse...

Your food has run out. Your gear and other supplies are critically low. You haven't found another living soul, animal or human, yet and it has been 3 days... Or at least that's how long you THINK it has been since... since.........
*Hmpf*
Now that you think about it, you can't remember being somewhere else or what brought you to this awful land... You just KNOW you are lost...
The fog parts momentarily and reveals a road just through the woods...
A cold rain begins to fall and you don't hear your stomach growl as earth-quaking thunder rumbles through the sky...

That's where we will start...
Expect to have "less than normal" equipment. I don't have specifics yet. This is supposed to be one of those games where the struggle is real and part of the threat is the shortage of supplies. I want to set expectations upfront.
I have all the major rules built into Fantasy Grounds, so I should have everything you need.
I would like to keep it mostly human and demihuman races vs monsters... BUT, this is fantasy, and there is no real "setting" limitation on stuff for this one-shot, so I have Volo's Guide to Monsters loaded where players can pick from those races if they so choose. I want you to play whatever you want...
Just remember these core concepts for this game:
1) You can't remember where you came from, all you know is you have a sense of being lost on the way to somewhere else. The more time passes, the harder it is to remember...
2) You have a growing sense of dread and a desire to get back to where ever it is you can't remember.
3) You are truly becoming scared, as you have yet to encounter anything else LIVING... are you dead???
All are welcome, but experience may be needed since you'll need to create a 10th level character.
