I love your program and work so far but for now only D&D for me.. I would love to see Star Wars from FFG here. Is there any possibility to get it on this game?

Hello GCardoso,

We would love to see that as well but from what I understand, it would be very unlikely. We don't have a license with FFG and if we did, that would need to be a license of a system they are already licensing. That multiple level of licensing pretty much squashes any possible deals. Star Wars itself already has separate licensing deals with other companies for video games and while we all understand that a digital version of the tabletop game is a completely separate thing, it would be hard to convince the lawyers and licensing folks of this.

While that prohibits us from doing an official ruleset and prohibits anyone from distributing any images or content, the mechanics of a game are still available to support freely. There is a community ruleset available which will allow you to play the game. You will just need to enter in your own data.

The community ruleset works great, I been using it with my group for several months now.

Lots of people use the community ruleset and supporting data modules to run FFG Star Wars on Fantasy Grounds. Nearly 6,500 gaming sessions last year: https://www.enworld.org/forum/content.php?3507-Who-s-Playing-What-on-Fantasy-Grounds#.WfHy2WhSz8B

The licensing is so strict that FFG can't even release PDFs, as this is seen as a completely different computer license.

Get the community ruleset here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24151-Star-Wars-Edge-of-the-Empire-Age-of-Rebellion-Force-and-Destiny-v2-ruleset

Sadly, when I saw GCardoso's question, I feared that would be the answer, as I would love to see that as well, but realize the levels of legality involved in such a thing. However, any chance of ya'll getting together with FFG on a ruleset for Genesys (https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/genesys/products/genesys-core-rulebook/) the generic version of the same ruleset they are working on now?

Hmm, that's interesting. Just last year (or the year before) I thought FFG stated that they were going to be trying to stay out of the RPG market when they had gotten out earlier to focus on board games.

Edit: Also welcome to the forums and FG Community!

Thank you! I tend to lurk much more than actually respond, but this peaked my curiosity :) FFG not only has Genesys in the pipeline, but are in testing with https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/legend-of-the-five-rings-roleplaying-game/ also.
