My PC's IP address changed, and I could not do a connectivity test. I changed the Alias, but the players could only log in with the old alias. Not sure why?

If your computer's IP address has changed then you'll need to change the port forwarding to point to the new address of your PC.

Yes I did that last night. So no need to change alias?

Your existing alias should still work; but you can change it if you want. The alias isn't tied to your internal IP address.

That is the weird part. I changed it, but players could not log in through the new Alias, but the old.

Zacchaeus, is there a way to put the old alias up on my end? Because I see the new alias, but they can't user it.

Nope, you can't control the alias, other than keeping what you have or creating a new one. Strange that the old alias works, don't know what to suggest there, but I'm sure someone else will.

I've never heard of anything like that either. I'd suggest that you might want to email [email protected] so that they can investigate the issue.

Ok, figured out part of it. Both alias work Old and New.

I had a friend tried to log in with both aliases, and he got errors.

I logged in from a laptop on a "hotspot" and there are no error messages.

Thanks. What is going on on his end?

He moved the old data folder, and now has no error. However he cant delete the old data folder.

It sounds like the software was installed by someone with admin permission on his machine, but his currently logged in user doesn't have access to remove admin folders/files. Usually, Windows will query for admin permission, if something requires admin permission. (Or they can open File Explorer as Admin and remove that way.)

His computer recently had a crash, it caught on fire. Some cables were damaged. After changing a card and a cable it was up and running. Sure it may have something to do with that.

Wow, that's a hard crash for sure. Hope it never happens to me. (fingers crossed) ;)
