Name: Mantak (character name: Kolo Rorsim)
Alignment: Neutral/Good
Race: Halfling
Class: Monk
Archetype: TBD based on party, but most likely Way of Shadow
Background: Urchin
Faction (optional):
Short bio/backstory: (one line version) I ran away from home, was found by some monks, told them my parents were dead so they took me in, they seemed like nice enough people so i didn't just steal everything and run. a few years latter they found out my parents were not dead and sent me off to atone for my lies before they will let me back in.
A little about yourself: Ive been playing D&D for about 10 years, most of my experience is 3.5 with a little Pathfinder and a little 5th ed. 9/10 times i have to DM because no one else wants to, so i thought i would look for an online game where i would get to be a player for once.

I can play any class, but your post asked for a first choice of character. It might help if you let us know what you already have in the party.

Short bio/backstory:
Turd is a loner. He travels usually by himself from town to town looking for a fight or a group to fight with. He lives off the gold he earns during his travels. He has a dry sense of humor and off the wall comments. Stays to himself. Has a taste for blood and loves to dip his pointer finger in the blood of his enemies and mark his cheeks with their blood, just under his eyes. He learned to be incredibly sneaky from his legendary mentor Filet Minyon. Turd learned to use a bow and sword at a very young age after his parents were kidnapped. He is still in a never ending search for what happened to his parents.

Turd is hiding in a barrel because a group of wizards are searching for him. After running down a narrow alley way, turd hopped into a damp, dank barrel. The bottom of the barrel is filled ankle deep with what seems to be fish guts. As the wizards close in on his position, he notices a 2nd story balcony with a railing. Grabs his rope and slings it up towards the railing. The rope attaches in a way that allows Turd to lift himself along with the barrel into the air. Turd flies through the group of wizards and flings the barrel from his feet into one of the surrounding buildings. BAM! Fish guts fly everywhere and gives Turd the opportunity he needs to jump from the rope. The wizards, now covered in the fish goo, are stunned by what just happened and see Turd disappear behind crowd of villagers off in the distance. Victory!

Name: Theo Seville
Alignment: Neutral Good
Race: Half-Drow
Class: Cleric (with the intent to Multi-task into Warlock)
Archetype: War Domain (Warlock: Seeker, I know right now it is still just UA, but the suspicion is that it will be included in the release of Xanathar's Guide to Everything in Nov.)

Background: Far Traveler
Faction (optional):
Short bio/backstory: Born as a slave and used to perform raids in the daylight (half-drow aren't penalized in sunlight ref Volo's and SCAG); Theo escapes and is taken in by clerics. Now he is trying to find meaning in why he was born and understanding of the world. He is not sure if the path of religion will provide him the answers or the power he seeks to never be a slave again.
A little about yourself: I am 37 and have been playing D&D on an off since I was 16. I played 3 and 3.5 then moved to a new state and completely missed Pathfinder. Started again about a year ago with a couple of small groups in 5e, but have ended up DMing most of those games. I had the idea about this character and rather than make the cardinal sin of putting a character I liked so much as an NPC, I am looking for a game to be a player which never happens.

Faction (optional):
The Zhentarim

The Zhentarim seeks to become omnipresent and inescapable, more wealthy and powerful, and most importantly, untouchable. The public face of the organization appears much more benign, offering the best mercenaries money can buy. When a merchant needs an escort for his caravan, when a noble needs bodyguards to protect her holdings, or when a city needs trained soldiers to defend its honor, the Zhentarim provides the best-trained fighting men and women money can buy. However, the cost of doing business with the Black Network can be high.

The Black Network wants to make it necessary—and preferable, even—to deal with its members. It wants to secure, over time, an iron-fisted monopoly. Members must be the best—the cheapest, the fastest, and the most secure—at providing services and goods both legal and illicit, willing to lose coin if it means destroying a competitor, and securing profits from everyone they deal with, except when to do so would work against the Black Network's ultimate goal: to make everyone dependent on it.

A member of the Zhentarim thinks of himself or herself as a member of a very large family and relies on the Black Network for resources and security. However, members are granted enough autonomy to pursue their own interests and gain some measure of personal power or influence.

BELIEFS

The Zhentarim is your family. You watch out for it, and it watches out for you.
You are the master of your own destiny. Never be less than what you deserve to be.
Everything—and everyone—has a price.
GOALS

To amass wealth, power, and influence.

Short bio/backstory:

All my life, I've dreamed of making some sort of difference in this world.
When I was a young boy, my father would return from his travels with many incredible stories of his sights of nature, the wondrous cities that he had visited and beautiful blessings of life that he had seen and then written about. The mighty warriors triumphing over evil, the stories of gods and the heroes earning the praise of all who heard of them. My two older sisters wanted to become bards like my father, to meet those heroes and sing songs of their deeds. I always felt different from them in that I felt that I had some sort of magic within myself and a need to learn more of this world. Why they would settle for witnessing others greatness. I wanted greatness for myself in life. While they studied their instruments, I was studying at the local Wisdom and Intellect Institute where i learned about the skills as a Wizard. Day and Night I studied and many nights I would be in a nearby cave practicing my spells. I was very lucky that I was able to persuade my father into letting me join the Institute even though i did not want to be a bard like the rest on my family.

To be continued at request......
