A follow-up to our most successful product to date, The Complete SRD, Digital Adventures is proud to present The Complete d20 Modern SRD. Yep! Ben (author of the CSRD too) is going to send me a screen shot by the weekend, and when he does I'll post it to the forum. ;)

I'm hustling on this one, and I can tell you it's going to be almost a complete graphics overhaul. It looks VERY different from the existing rulesets we've seen out there. Desktop Icons are different, but the supporting screens, radial icons, mod collector, hotkey boxes, and everything else I can possibly get done before deadline is going to be changed.

Ya know, I've never played D20 Modern, never seen it either. Is it pretty good? Can you play some espionage stuff on it ? (Misses T.S.S.I) :)

I've played it some. It's got some good concepts, and it plays fast (like D&D) when it comes to combat. It's got a good military espionage feel, and the future sourcebook is excellent. The supporting d20 Past and d20 Apocalypse are disappointingly brief, but the thick books are pretty good. Charles Ryan did a lot of the core stuff for d20 Modern, and if you remember a game called Millennium's End, you'll know his stuff when you see it.

Personally, I like the d20 Future stuff as well. It has some great elements, and can be made into one helluva campaign. I have yet to find any interested players though. That's a real bummer.

Well TR, part of my reason for doing this ruleset was so that I would get a chance to play d20 Modern. Perhaps we need to get a game or two organized, huh? :)

Heh.. I already have one mapped out (literally with maps) and a storyline 3/4 completed in a module. No one ever replied to the post, so I considered it dead.

I've got a few more icons, tokens and stuff to do, and I'm not sure I'm satisfied with the Tokenbox symbol (although I thought it was rather witty).

I just wanted to post this quick update to let everyone know that we have experiencing some difficulties getting all of the text together for the Complete d20 Modern SRD, and it will likely be a week late.

Digital Adventures apologizes for this delay, and hopes to have the MSRD ready to roll on or around March 7th.

I cannot claim any credit for the graphics, that I think goes to bagpuss...

Typical I finally get modern done (not future / arcana yet) and someone brings out a "proper" version...

Oh well...

However after the "trouble" I got into last time with writing a tool to add feats to a certain ruleset, I think I'll quietly potter on slowly with mine (even if I never get it finished)....

Sorry Dos. We've actually had this planned for about 6 months now, though Ben has had to put it down a couple of times due to personal work overload or it would have been out around XMAS.

It is hard for me sometimes to disclose what DA is working on, as sometimes projects get delayed or shelved for one reason or another. I ususally don't like to announce something until it is almost done, just to be safe.

From the screen shot I can see you have put a lot of work into it, mine was bore out of a need to play Modern rather than Fantasy. It would have been a long wait, if I waited for yours <grin>

Sorry Mr. Hack, but not today. I just received word that the monsters are not done yet, and we haven't even had a chance to go over it yet for errors. I will make sure to post another update in a couple of days.

Do you have any news on whether you're still going to bother releasing yours, when we can expect it, and what it will feature that will justify spending money on it rather than using the excellent free product?

Yep. In fact, I had emailed the original author even before the CSRD was done about using his (and hiring him to expand what he had), and I never heard back. This is why DA decided to build a new one from scratch with all new graphics and following the same organization that was put into the Complete SRD.

I am currently waiting to hear back from Ben on his progress. Since we will be releasing it as a free download he wanted to take some more time to shore everything up and test it.

This thread was from over 10 years ago, so I don't think it was ever made. However, the majority of the SRD data is already included in the d20 Modern ruleset DLC.

It does not, as far as I know. There was never enough interest to create add-on products.

On a related note, you can enter this information into the interface as needed.
