Still having connection issues

Hi folks,

running as localhost was no problem but always get a Test failure even after I´ve:

1. Windows firewall for FG checked
2. Fritzbox7490 uPnP allowed
3. Static IP-adress configured
4. Port1802 forwarded on this static IP-adress

all this things had been configurated from an IT worker, thought he knows what to do after I could not get it running properly,
but still I could not get connected. So, big HELP is needed.
For now I downloaded Hamachi but not being sure how get this thing working, as I am not really good at all this, I prefer asking for some help/solution here.
Little bit confused of all I´ve to do just to make run the FG, at the beginning it all sounds simple but for now it seams it isn´t
So, HELP

Welcome to the forums and FG community. I'm guessing that your ISP is using Ipv6, which is an issue and you might have to use a VPN solution to get a Ipv4 address.

Please type the following in a command prompt: tracert 8.8.8.8 and post the results here. This will help us identify if you need to use a VPN or not.

Do you have another computer you can try a test on the same network? Install the FG demo and try to connect with the local IP address of the GM computer. This will help to identify if the issue is on the GM computer or on the port forwarding/router setup.

so assuming I connect to Hamachi, have I to rechange myinternal and/or external IP´s to tthe Hamachi server given IP when I´m loggin into FG or can I just let anything like it is. As I´m saying getting more and more confused

That second hop is an internal IP address, so this looks like your ISP is sharing public IP addresses among multiple users. You'll need to either request a dedicated IP from your ISP (if they do this it will probably cost you) or use a VPN solution.

Ok port 1802 shows up on Ipv4 an IPv6 automaticly when I forward it. I guessed that´s the problem why it does not work normally

Ok, ITman told me the something similar that´s why I downloaded Hamachi, will give it a try.
But thanks for quick responds and will let you know if, when and how it works later on ;)

Note, with Hamachi ALL your other players will also have to install it. If you sign up for a VPN service like PureVPN (or setup your own VPN server, there's instructions here somewhere) it's seemless for your players and the don't notice a thing.

Hi, just wanna let you know that meanwhile I runned a successfull game as Host. But first I tried some things.
1. I gave HAMACHI a try (as I said) at that worked all fine but that solution I was not really happy of.
2. I got a DEDICATED ID from my internet-provider (that costs me about 3dollars a month) but that hasn´t helped me (test failure and no player could connect.)
3, Than I bought a VPN from an VPN provider (cyberghost) but I could not get it running like the HAMACHI thing (perhaps this was due to my lack of computer knowlege).
4. I also bought a 1 month gaming server (but again this is not what helped me to get me a Test Success or my players a successful connection).gav

Have to say that at this moment I where ready to gave up on the FG (at least for a while) and than.....
1. I had the idea to run at least a gm session at home for my players (as I have also a game running where my friends come to me at home). To make a long story short with that laptop I activated my wlan for connection and their the WONDER happens:)

With Wlan I have absolutely no problems to run the Test with success and players can also connect. So everything seems fine now

You´re right HAMACHI is not the best solution I host my games know over wlan and their I have no connection promblems
