So I'm gonna find myself a PF-game in which to participate. I have a few questions regarding FG and convenience that I hope someone can answer.

As a player I assume the PF character-sheet already comes with the standard-license FG. Are there any worthwhile conveniences in the Core Rulebook or Advanced Players Guide products for FG, considering I already have the rulebooks as PDFs?

Does the APG repeat the character-creation content from CR, or just add to it? I.E, should I get both if I get any?

Kindly,
:)

There are lots of FG conveniences in the modules - having all the data at your fingertips, some level of drag/drop automation, portraits and images ready to share, rollable tables, etc., etc..

Both products reproduce what the original products contain. So APG will just have APG stuff.

Have a look at the overview videos in the product page and decide for yourself if it's worth it for you:

Hey and thanks for answering.
I already saw the vids. I was kinda hoping for your personal experience :)

My personal experience is that there is a lot of information in there and makes it easy for a GM to share data with players. If you already own the PDF you'll get the cost of the PDF removed from the purchase, so that's a nice little saving.

You can still always input all the data for PCs yourself. But the Core rules in particular are much more than just PCs.

There are a lot of OGL community modules out there, but these don't have drag/drop integration. FYI - the drag/drop automation is what you see in the videos - it will give you a starting point but it won't add all bonuses and feats/abilities won't add any automation.

In the end, it will save you time and be nice to have all the data in FG in an official package and similar layout to the original product. Is saving that time and having all the official data/artwork worth $40 to you? Only you can make that call...

It's not a vital requirement to playing. After all, people have been playing Pathfinder on Fantasy Grounds for many years before the official content. The Pathfinder ruleset (PC, NPC sheets, etc.) all come with your normal FG license. As does some base OGL modules. There are a lot of community created OGL modules. If you're on the fence, then don't buy any of the official material yet. Wait until you've played some and are more familiar with the FG data structure etc. and maybe the GM in the game/s you play have the official modules and you can make a more informed decision on whether you want/need the official modules.
