I am new to FG and just recently purchased the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary pack and want to know if there is a way to use it with the 5e ruleset. All I would have to do is to redo the encounters, but I can't seem to load the module with the 5e ruleset active.

Hi jdclyde welcome to FG

Modules are usually specific to the ruleset for which they are created. It is sometimes possible to open a module designed for one ruleset in another one but of course most things don't work. In this case the module is specifically written for Pathfinder and won't open in 5e. Additionally of course you won't be able to access the module since it is protected.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I will have to reproduce the module myself, which isn't a problem, just time consuming.I've already done the conversion work, it is just a matter of copying it to FG.

You can open PFRPG modules in a 5E campaign, but it requires a simple edit to the 5E base.xml file to allow access. I've posted about this a few times, but I'm travelling at the moment and dont bave tike to search tbe forums. Look fir similar threads to this one...

EDIT: Or use the Universal Modules extension: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?41034-Universal-Module-Extension

Thank you! :)

@jdclyde - Referring to that post: use <acceptfrom ruleset="PFRPG" /> in the 5E ruleset (5E.pak) to allow you open Pathfinder modules in a 5E campaign.

If you do convert this, I'd be interested in playing it in 5e. I can help you learn how to use FG as well (you should always have at least one knowledgeable FG user in your games).

Players download all required files from the GM / host.

Don't do any XML changes, use the Universal Modules extension: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?41034-Universal-Module-Extension
