View Full Version : Unable to open Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Player's Guide for character

After one of the recent updates (not sure which) to the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Player's Guide module, (probably the one where the name changed from D&D Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Player's Guide to DD Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Player's Guide) we can no longer open it from a character that uses the Cleric class, the module is active and I can open it directly but the link errors out when trying from the Class & Level window.

A module you are attempting to use is not loaded.

D&D Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Player's Guide

Activate module and attempt to open the link again?

The only thing we can think of that would cause this is the name change.

That is an error on my part; the name should not have been changed. I'll try to get a fix for that as soon as possible.

An update has just been issue (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?38842-Patcher-update-(6-20)) to resolve this problem.

So I just noticed that in my game I have issues with the SCAG loading as well. I have both "D&D Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Players" and "D&D Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide" bought and loaded. I can access the classes from that book, down to their subclass features (long death monk for example); I can also access races and subraces present there, but trying to access their features calls for activation and reload of one "DD Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Player's Guide". This activation does nothing, but the features work normally when the race is applied to a character (tested on Half-Elf-Variant's Fleet subrace).

So after a bit of googling around and searching the forum my only conclusion is an unresolved naming conflict in the SCAG module, which I somehow inherited from the 2017 update and didn't notice until now, maybe? How do I fix it?

Was the character created during the brief period that the name was incorrect?

I'm getting this same error today when trying to open subraces for Tiefling-Variant. I've tried unloaded and reloading the module to no avail.

I’ll have a look tomorrow. Not near my computer right now.

I've found the issue and an update will be out next Tuesday. Sorry for that, same issue as last time; mix up in certain files causing an internal name change.

If it's still relevant, the character I tested this on was created hours before posting, as was the campaign he was in - however, I checked in my two year old campaign and the behaviour was similar.
