Hi Folks,
Another question that I'm sure is an easy one but I cannot find anything on. I understand how to add /create a totally new NPC Monster. However, what I would like to do, is take a base monster i.e. Ankheg and use that as a base template to create say a 3.5E Monster like the Mad Slasher. Is there anyway to take the base Ankheg template and use that as a start but simply make changes to it? Or do I need to start from scratch. I've googled around and checked the Wiki and unless my sleep deprivation has kicked in, I can't find anything on modifying an existing NPC to create a new NPC derivative from it. I'm sure I'm missing it somewhere and would appreciate if someone can point me to it or let me know how to do it. Thanks.

Drag it to the NPC section and alter away. :)

Make a copy of the Ankheg. Drag/drop it in the NPC data list - you'll get an exact copy. Then edit the copy (not the original). The copy will be the one that doesn't have a group name after it - placed in the "<new>" group.
