What are the maps/pictures you are sharing; what are their file sizes and pixel sizes?

If FG is crashing then it sounds like FG is running out of memory. FG is a 32-bit application, so can only use so much, even if your computer has lots.

Some things to look at in this thread: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?38193-Player-memory-issues-with-PFRPG-modules&p=336903&viewfull=1#post336903

And this thread: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?37935-3-3-0-Ultimate-goes-BOOM/page2

Sounds like the map is very large (in terms of total number of pixels being sent over the 'Net) - you could get him to see how big his maps are and either reduce the resolution or cut them up into smaller maps.

Cheers

Edit: Damn! - Ninja's AGAIN :ninja:

It may not be the final picture, that might just be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel's back.

Run Windows task manager and keep an eye on how much memory the FantasyGrounds.exe process is using. If you're running a 32-bit operating system the. You'll start having issues around 1.7GB and crash soon after. If you're using a 64-bit operating system then this limit is around 3.5GB.

If you're approaching these limits then close down images, close modules, ask your GM to in share images/maps that are no longer needed.

But, there's a good chance there is one or two very large maps/images the GM has shared, these should be reduced to below 2048x2048 pixels. Or, the GM has given access to modules that are really meant for GMs, not players. Or maybe both...

What ruleset are you playing? What modules has the GM shared?

Turn the DOE sound option off in your campaign settings.

us the players ?

As Trenloe said - "Yes" - unless a given player has Syrinscape installed AND the relevant SoundPak AND want's to hear the sounds "locally" as opposed to over the VoIP App you're using.
