This was originally in The Tavern thread.

Apologies for moving this here, but I figure more technically minded people might see it and be able to help :)

When converting a stock NPC from Hero Lab everything was working fine.
Lately when I try it through FG character converter, I'm getting :

Could not convert (character name) An error occurred while parsing EntityName. Line 1. Position 108.
Strangely it only fails on certain character types when they were working before.

I can convert stock sorcerers, paladins, clerics

If I create a character and not import one from Import Stock hero option on Hero Labs it always works.
If I import a stock hero that is a cleric, sorcerer, druid or paladin it works.

Any other character type fails with the error message above. I created two identical characters one Stock Inputted Rogue, one created and the Stock Inputted one failed when converting.
Looking at both .hlfg files they seem identical.

Tried reinstalling HL, to no effect.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on or how to help?

Thanks in advance.

Booker.

Please provide example .hlfg files of one that works and one that fails. Thanks.

Here you go.

Bill is the hero that fails to convert.

Both are Stock Imported NPCs using Herolab.
The Sorcerer file converts fine.

Thanks again for the help.

For Bill, the problem is in the description of the "+1 Longbow, Composite (Str +4)" - it doesn't like the & entry in "proficiency & feat", change this to "proficiency and feat" and it will work.
