I noticed in the Yawning Portal in the Tomb of Horrors that certain traps were set up as encounters. What an awesome idea! Congrates. Using symbol tokens now this technique is a cool way to show effects of traps or new appearing walls etc.... by loading the encounter. I'm currently converting Axe of the Dwarvish Lords 2E into FG 5E and this trap encounter idea is coming in real handy.

Thanks FG

Yep. Definitely a best practice to include traps as encounters and very cool! If you look at this thread:

I posted a couple free modules where I included a number of traps as NPC's that can be dropped in encounters. Rob2e also prepared some great random trap tables on the DMs guild as well.

Ah heck. That's because I posted the wrong link! I updated my post above with the correct link. Sorry about that!

Yep, a lot of info on this is in the AAW module making guide - it's 3.5E/PF, but can be applied to all CoreRPG based rulesets. Link available from the Developer Wiki page, which is here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/images/b/b7/Adventure-a-Week_Module_Creation_Guide.pdf
