I'm going on holidays and want to continue working on my campaign on my laptop. I've read that i should copy the data folder.

So, just to be safe (dont want to mess things up): install FG on my laptop, use my key, activate modules, and copy/move the data folder to my laptop and back? Btw, do i need wifi?

thx

Yes, that will do it. You only need wifi for when you first activate and update. Only copy over the Data Directory files that you need - campaigns, tokens, portraits. The rest can get picked up with an Update.

Ok, will only copy those three. Thx

Ok, 4 it is then ;-) Wouldnt it be better to copy the whole data folder?

I would just copy the whole data folder, then do an update after the copy.

Install the data directory to your Google drive or dropbox and then point both instances of FG at the data folder

MODERATOR: For all those reading, do NOT do this.

That's about the worst thing you can do. There have been numerous reports of loss of campaign data when doing this.

Yes, we don't recommend using a synchronized folder for your Data Directory. There have been several reports of it synchronizing while FG is still active and it causing corruption in the db.xml file, leading to loss of data.

ah, thats what I do differently, my cloud is set to manual sync which I do between sessions
