I'd love to play this. Saturdays and sundays are good for me although sundays are usually best for me. I was just in a game that went about 2 years before it kinda of peetered out due to player inactivity and the DM finally gave up. I have a couple of ideas. Maybe a bard sailor.

Sorry, I should have added the LFG info as well. I can play Saturdays at 9:30a PST, that's 12:30 in the afternoon local for me. As for gaming, I'm relatively new to tabletops, but I have played my fair share of RPG video games, including many of those based on d20 rules. As for paladin or dwarf fighter, I'm fine with either but leaning more toward the dwarf fighter. It really depends on what the party could use more.

Hi, I'll go by Goldfsh for the time being. I'm relatively new to tabletop RPGs other than some very unofficial games/experiences with the D&D rule set. I have played a ton of RPG video games (including baulders gate, champions of norrath, pillars of eternity) that to me, have a D&D feel. I work a normal 8-5 job, so I would only be available in the evenings during the week, but I'm fairly flexible on the weekends. I've always wanted to get in to D&D, but it has been hard to find and work with any local groups. I've decided to pick up the core books for 5e and make a real effort to learn the game and find a group to play with.

I would like to find a group that plays once or twice a week, with a good balance of humor, problem solving and rp. If you have a group lfm, post here or PM me, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can (probably within a few hours at the most). Thanks everyone!

If it was barbarian, it would not be the traditional type. Maybe a flashy dressing fighter who taunts his enemies, until he gets pushed too far or wounded, then, snap. Paladin I was thinking half-orc devotion paladin maybe.

About me: 41 years old, male. I work weekdays 6 am to 2 pm, getting up at 4 am, so it is difficult to stay up too late playing weeknights, hence the weekend preference. Low key and relaxed, I just like having fun playing games with similar people who can laugh and enjoy that time. I also prefer mixed male/female players in a group, but I am sure I do not want to play a female character as I am not sure I could ever do it justice. In any case, good luck in the search and have fun gaming.

Sounds great, your story is similar to mine. We have a half-orc fighter, but another one as a Paladin would not be unheard of. We have a totem barbarian already. We have two healer types. I am pretty flexible as to the class/race. I play good aligned and, as mentioned, male characters, but otherwise I am happy to play just about anything else from dwarven rogue to half-orc wizard :-).

I will not be around this week during your regular game time, but I will try to dial in on the 13th.

Voice: I have used several voicechat programs for years and currently use Discord for a 5e Forgotten Realms game I run in Fantasy Grounds.

Game System Preferred: D&D 5E. Any really as long as the stories are interesting and the group is fun.

Game System Experience: Many years of D&D 3.5 through 5e, Pathfinder, and various Star Wars pen and paper from the d6 all the way to Fantasy Flight Games' pretty dice. I also played a MUD for years called Achaea, a game where, in game terms, speaking out of character was considered insanity. If you openly and repeatedly spewed insanity and ignored warnings from other players long enough, eventually a God (a GM) would turn the offending insane person into a shrubbery. Good times.

Fantasy Grounds Experience: About a year.

Character Type Preferred: I enjoy playing a wide variety of characters and always have backups prepared just in case. I keep a folder full of character ideas and concepts I use as inspiration for NPCs that my players will run across or if I need to pull something out of nowhere on the spot. From what I've read in this thread it seems like you have a very rigged and specific party you are trying to slot players into, even going so far as telling players what the background of their character will be. I've never seen such a thing and find it interesting. I think it would be fascinating to join such a group.

About me: 29, male, married, two kids. I'm up early in the morning and avoid staying up late as a result. I feel like a lot of what I would put here is in the "Character Type Preferred" section. I am just a laid back nerd from the Midwest who enjoys hanging out with other like minded people in fantasyland. For this particular group I actually don't mind if I end up not having much say in what character I play or what the background of my character is, I am just as at home in the thick of an intense tactical combat as I am roleplaying an evening at a high society gala.
