Hi there

It might be that I'm misunderstanding but is it normal that players themselves set the Modifiers or do I as a DM do it?

Hmm, I'm unaware of the ability of the GM to set modifiers for players. I guess I need to try that out. It is the primary source of mistakes in my games.

Ok thanks for the answer. I thought I as the DM could set modifiers and then the players could roll :)

Players set their modifiers - after checking with you of course!

The GM can also set modifiers by adding effects to the PC in the combat tracker before the roll. Other than that, players set their modifiers - you'll see the modifier number in the roll result in the chat window. This is just like face-to-face gaming - the player rolls, adds their modifiers and tells the GM the result.
