I am trying to enter a character for play who has a pair of gauntlets of ogre power. I have found the Google Doc with the example codes and have looked at the WIKI for 5e Effects. I am just not understanding how to input everything and how to tell if it is working. Can anyone help me with some info to guide me?

Details on how to create an effect are here (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/5E_Character_Sheet#Creating_Effects).

In this case the effect will be STR: X where X is the difference between the character's actual Strength and 19 (so if their STR is 15 then STR:4 would be the effect). Set the targeting to self and the Expend? to never.

Basically that is exactly what I had seen on the WIKI and the Google Doc. I am not sure if I am filling it in right. Here is how it looks. I see no effect on the sheet, I am not sure how to tell if it is working.
The character has a Str score of 10 so the adjustment is 9 and the save adjustment would be 4.

The effect will only work if placed on a character who is on the CT. So to test place the character on the CT then apply the effect by clicking on the running man icon. Then make a few checks and you'll see the results in chat.

Effects are applied to a character in the combat tracker. Nothing happens if you place them on a weapon. Some info here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/5E_Effects#Combat_Tracker

Got it to work, even after the adjustment it does not show my STR as 19 but when I roll for a STR check or save it shows. I did have to remove the save part since it seems that doing the stat adjustment increased the save. Previous comments on other threads seemed to say that you had to do both.

Effects don't change the base data on your character sheet, they are applied when a roll is made.

See "What is an Effect?" here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/5E_Effects#What_is_an_Effect.3F

Indeed, the SAVE part isn't required. I've amended that sheet to reflect that.
