FG Electronic Modules for the Goodman Games/WoTC partnership

Hey Folks,
I was wondering if FG was going to do the electronic books for the Goodman Games/WoTC partnership. It looks like the first book up will be available in August and is a combination of B1 and B2. I'm just curious if FG would have the license to produce these? Thanks!

I hope so too. I made modules for the DCC RPG rulebook that I would love to see as an official FG product. I just converted it to a reference manual, which is pretty awesome. Maybe WotC can help convince GG that the online community is worth supporting!

If GG doesn't want people to give them money, there's not much you can do.

Agreed JohnD. I'm curious as to what their reluctance is. Especially now that they're going to be taking over the conversion/expansion of some of the most 'beloved' D&D adventures, it would be nice to have the option to buy those. Although, I guess it'll help me learn how to create adventures using FG (so I guess that may be a positive - lol)...

They are better than Green Ronin though, PCGen has approached them several times and it's like they want nothing to do with electronic support. Even Lone Wolf had to work hard to convince them to get a license for M&M HeroLab files, and that's basically free money.

Sometimes its simply a business decision based upon bandwidth. Another partnership, a new market/format/function is something that takes up time and resources. Even if the venture would be profitable, if you are already working 60 hours per week, you may not be willing to spend another 5 to engage in a new venture. Or, sometimes it's capital, you have $x to invest back into your company and you have to decide where to invest it.

So, do you invest it in something you know and works? Or in something new with an unknown return and risk?I think we all recognize SW has limited resources to apply towards all of the product improvements we suggest. We get that it's not that Doug, John etc don't want to deploy dynamic lighting in the current FG architecture (or a thousand other suggestions), but it doesn't make business sense to implement in the current architecture. (or to include all the automation we see in 5E in every Star Wars ruleset etc...)

So, if you do ever approach someone with an idea to partner up with SW/FG, keep in mind that small business owners have to be very concerned with; the amount of time they will have to commit, investment, and as every business risk and reward.
