Hi all, I'm looking to buy a wireless headset and mic for Playing D&D on Fantasy Grounds so I can talk and listen to the other players. I don't want to go crazy money for a headset but will pay extra if need be to get something of a decent quality. I saw these on Amazon and they have very mixed reviews, some think they are great while others think they are terrible so I'm wondering has anyone here any experience with them?

Here is the link: https://amzn.eu/g9aMFkv

Thanks in advance.

That many negative reviews? Means their quality control is very poor and you have a high chance of getting a dodgy set.
I bought some cheap ones prior to Christmas - not this model - and the mic did not work on either pair.

I work from home, which means I'm talking online via my headset to colleagues all day long. This headset is both comfortable and works *really* well: SteelSeries Siberia 800 (https://a.co/8DceDTw). When I first got it, people I worked with said that I sounded like I was in the room when I talked with them on the phone. I've had them for over a year and had no problem with them ever, and I use them all the time, probably 6-8 hours a day...

I don't know what your comfort level is with cost (I know those are a bit spendy). This manufacturer has a set with has a lower cost, but I have no idea how good they are: SteelSeries Arctis 7 Wireless (https://a.co/1WHQc9D).

If you want to go wireless, I would cheap out with a $50 pair of headphone imo. They wont sound great and likey cut in and out, while having a poor battery life.

I bought an older version of these 2 years ago and still use them today: https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Ca-9011132-NA/dp/B013GMX9HE/ref=dp_ob_title_ce. Great headset, excellent battery like (8+) hours, and wont break the bank. If mine broke today, I would buy another pair.

As an FYI, the steelseries one recommended above (cheaper version) would also be good. Steelseries makes a really good product, so you shouldn't have any issues.

Not sure what the price in pounds is, but I have had this set since the summer of 2014, with minimal obstructions in the way my range has been as far as 200 ft. I have never had a problem with them, and this is all I have ever gamed on. A few here can tell you whether they have had problems coming from my side in their games. I did take the advice given in the reviews and wrapped the headband in black electrical tape when I got them. I recently noticed the pads on the ears are starting to fray, but at this price, I probably should have a spare set anyway. :)

Seriously consider something with builtin usb audio, so you can have the voice chat app use a seperate sound device, allowing you uncouple game/fx from voice
