I am thinking about buying FG,but have some questions.
1:It looks like most people use FG to play D&D,I have played the Star Wars RPG but never D&D.Most of the D&D rules look good but it has far too much spells and spellcasting for my taste, even the ranger(My Favorite class)casts spells.does anybody play with the D&D rules but none of the players use the magical classes(or in the case of the ranger just not cast spells)?
2:How hard is it to make a ruleset that is not D20 or even like D20?
That is all for now, thanks in advance for your answers.

I can't answer question number one, because I don't play d20 and therein lies my ability to answer question number two. I did make a completely new ruleset for my game of choice - HarnMaster. I won't say that it was a walk in the park, mainly because there's a lot of work to be done - especially on such an extensive system that HarnMaster is. But then again, I didn't just do the character sheets, I also made my own NPC-sheets, reference material, combat tracker. Everything is made to fit the HarnMaster system. Having said that, it is most rewarding, and I'm already working on improvements from lessons learned. So, to answer your question, it's not actually hard, but depending on how ambitious you are, there is a lot of work. Familiarity with coding and experience with some sort of image editor is a bonus, but I don't think it's an absolute necessity as you probably can pick up the necessary skills as you go along.

Yet another question.Does the program come with documentation on how to create your own rulesets?

No ... but there are a number of Ruleset guru's out and about who are quick to help and offer advice.

There will be a reference manual available after the next patch.

It all depends on the style of the game, my game uses the d20 D&D rules, but I can only think of once that my players have used magic in about 7 or 8 sessions.

Also, there are other games out there that are not D&D. For instance, I am getting together a game that is d20 based, but is a Future game loosely based on ALternity.
In addition to that, there are rulesets out there for several games, including Star Wars (as I am playing in a current SW game) and I am sure you can get any of these fairly easy.
Cheers!

thats only because the guy playing the finger wiggler was only there for 1 or 2 sessions.

Can you use unofficial classes? For example lets say I make my own class can I use that class in default ruleset?

Yes you can. To use non-standard rules, all you need to do is make sure the DM, and or players know about them, and these include classes.

Cool! Oh by the way, would anybody be interested in my humble attempts at making base classes for D20?

Oh well no answer. I posted a class in the armory in the thread "A player made class for d20 fantasy".
