We are looking for 1 or 2 extra players to round out our group. Here's a little about us.
We are a regular group of 5 that plays every Saturday night from 9pm - midnight. Sometimes we do go till 1 or 2 AM at times. All times are EST.
We'd like to have 6 (possibly 7) players in our group.
We are mainly old Army buddies spread out all over the USA. It's not mandatory that you were in the Army, but it could help you to understand some references we make, honestly.
As for our experience, we have a mix of guys who played D&D since we were kids, and a few new guys who have only been playing 6 months. Even the guys who have been playing for years (the DM's) don't have time to study every rule. We aren't here to haggle over rules. Generally if there is a conflict the GM will make a spot decision and then review the rule after the game and decide how to approach it. Yes it can be annoying to get nerfed in the middle of the battle sometimes, but we are just here to have fun and arguing over rule interpretation for 15 minutes is not fun for anyone. And we are ONLY here to have fun. Of all the points this is the one I'll shout the most on because it's the most important. If you want to play, awesome! If you want to turn purple faced because someone missed a word in your spell or doesn't see it your way... you probably won't be around for long.
We are fairly new to FG. We had played on Roll20 previously and are just coming over.
We are currently about 80% through Lost Mines of Phandelver.
We are about to start Tyranny of Dragons (at level 1).
There are 2 DM's. One does the modules (like LMoP and ToD) and one does One-Shot games for when we have a couple players missing. The intent is with the addition of the new players to play ToD every other week and the One Shot games every other week.
I feel as though I should mention that we always aren't the fastest of groups to get through a module.
You would need a standard copy (or sub) to play with us.
We use Discord for voice. Text chat is primarily used for rolling and a little fluff... but not much.
We have two options for start. You can create and play the one shots (would start at level 14) till we finish LMoP and get into ToD (You would create a lvl 1 for ToD). We also have a 5 dorf cleric in the LMoP that we've been pulling around that you could pick up for a few weeks while we finish out that if you would really like to jump in. Either way we'll have to have a chat prior to and see how things work out.
We all have pretty stress filled jobs. This is our chance every week to sorta step out of our skin and have a little fun. Yes, someone might keep waking up the guy you keep putting to sleep. Yes if you get mind controlled someone might come at you a little heavy handed just to scare you a little. It's all about laughing and having a good time. If you are interested in this kind of group... by all means let me know. We'd love to hear from you and setup a time when we can talk about the game. Thanks for taking the time to read all this!
One last note. We don't read ahead for the modules, so please don't spoil the games for those who don't know what's going on... if you have played it before...
Thanks,
Rubezahl
