A bit confused about customization packs...

I am wondering about the need for the class customization packs if I have the PHB and other full books. Is there any value for me to get all these class and monster packs? Are they necessary for a DM or are they aimed more at players?

The individual packs are to allow players or GMs to get access to a subset of the data from the complete pack (PHB or MM) without the larger expense. If you already have the Complete Class Pack (PHB) or D&D Complete Core Monster Pack (MM) you don't need any of the individual packs.
