Looks like WotC has been working with Curse Gaming on a digital character creator. I'm wondering if it will allow exporting of characters and information? They are touting quite a bit of functionality with it - wonder what their long game is with it?

Their long game is likely to get you to pay a subscription for it; just like they did with the 4e character creator.

Someone from Curse answered some questions about it. Subscription is likely part of the pricing model, it isn't intended to tread on VTT territory, content will be able to bought piecemeal (like class packs in FG), and some other stuff I can't recall.

Thanks for the input. I just saw this thread after starting one myself. This pretty much answers my questions.
