Hi,
I'm just learning how to use this awesome RMC Ruleset but have struck a problem. When I drop the attack on a Token I want attacked no target is registered. Also when I drop the attack on the icon in the Combat Tracker I want attacked I get 'Script Error: [string "ct/scripts/ct_entry.lua"]:810: setTarget: Invalid parameter 2'. I click on the one I want attacked and still it will not be selected. The one attacking is selected in the Combat Tracker and the one being attacked is owned by a player. I have tried both with a friend online and with a local host. I must be missing something (again). I have tried redoing the encounter from scratch with same result. I have tried updating but not deleting FG entirely and re-installing, maybe I need to do this.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Andrew.

Drag name of target to appropriate part of character entry in CT. Dropping on token should work. All attacks, even PCs attacks need to be done from the CT, contrary to pretty well every other FG ruleset.

The Rolemaster ruleset is extremely powerful on FG but you just need to take a bit of time to figure out how things work, and it is a little more fiddly than others.

Thanks for your quick reply...but dragged targets name to Att OB of attacker, sadly nothing. Same when I drag it to Attack (Name), same when I drag it to grey link icon, same when I drag it onto icon, still it is not targeted. It definitely doesn't target when I drop attack from CT onto Icon on Map. It still comes up with 'Script Error: [string "ct/scripts/ct_entry.lua"]:810: setTarget: Invalid parameter 2' when I drop attack on name in CT. Am I doing what you suggested?
Thanks,
Andrew

ok, I seemed to have figured it out. Found this in another reply #1 rule: Drag PC Portraits into the Combat Tracker. Drag NPCs from list into Combat Tracker. Drag Tokens from Combat Tracker onto map. Did it and it worked. I told you I was missing something :)
Thanks JohnD for your reply so quickly and damned for his reply as well.
Andrew

Shoot I've tried all of those. Targeting worked once and then I was experiencing bugs and error messages after I killed one creature and tried to target the next.

What errors are you getting?

I was having a screen pop up with red error messages, but I don't remember what they said. Bottom line I couldn't target monsters, but I could get the monsters to target the PC

This morning I couldn't even get the monsters to target the NPC.

If you get any error messages, please keep a copy of them. Without these it's very, very difficult to track any issues down. You can click "Copy to Clipboard" at the top of the popup window to copy all of the messages, then paste in the forums with some information about what you were doing at the time the errors occurred - maybe provide a screenshot of FG to help identify what's happening. Thanks.

Will do. I've given up playing with the ruleset unfortunately since no matter how many times I've deleted everyone from the combat tracker and re-added them I still can't get anyone to target anyone. I have tried with other rulesets and I don't have the same issues. RM is by far my favorite game for over 30 years and this ruleset would be ideal to bring a new generation of players to RM if I could get it to work.

With other Targeting issues I have had I always are fixed the same way.

1/ Delete the character from combat tracker and bring them back in, then copy the token to the map.
2/ If that doesn't work delete the character from combat tracker get them to disconnect and reconnect and then add to combat tracker once they are back, then copy the token to the map.

Hmm...I was just running the combat myself without a player to see if I could target monsters...I did delete them from the tracker and read both the character and the monster numerous times. I still can't get it to work...

Sorry you're having issues @watters.

So we can help, can you provide us with more information please? I think the first step would checking the version of the RMC ruleset and any extensions you're using, as these can easily cause issues. Please provide a screenshot of the FG chat window after loading your campaign so we can check versions.

Also, please provide a bit more information about exactly what issues you're seeing. A screenshot of FG just after you have an issue, with a bit of information about what was happening when the issue arose. We'd love to help, but at the moment we have little information to go on.

Ruleset 1.7.6
RMC Options Rules0.4 ext

I've gotten rid of all the other ext I was using. I have now tried several times to use new maps, put down new grid, and put characters in the tracker and the monsters in the tracker and try combat.

I've also not loaded the ext this morning so it is just the basic ruleset and I still can't get the pc to target a monster, but I can get the monster to target the pc.

I also have issues with the body development not auto calculating even though I have that option turned on.

Try this 5 minute video I've thrown together: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6oOdW6SsMwsUlVCM3VWNEwzYUU

The first section shows targeting using only the combat tracker, then shows targeting using a map.

Hopefully this will help you get it working.

I also have issues with the body development not auto calculating even though I have that option turned on.
Referring to the user manual found here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?18275-RMC-Ruleset-Documentation

Page 6: Auto Calculating Max Hits: When this toggle is set, the Total Hits field will automatically be calculated using the Body Development Total Bonus.

So, it doesn't auto calculate body development - it auto populates the Total Hits field based of what Body Development shows. You need to populate body development yourself.

Page 18: 2.1.18 End of Development – Manual Admin Steps
- If body development ranks were acquired, drag the relevant dice to the chat window to roll for extra hits.
• Note: The “Rk Bn” field for body development is calculated by dividing Constitution score divided by ten (rounded up) and rolling one dice (type – D8 or D10 – depends on race) for each Rank developed for body development.

If you can get me the error messages, I should be able to resolve the issue. I know it is hard to do during a game but it is very helpful to track down these issues.

I've got the targeting to work and the error message I had while running things hasn't show up recently, but I will definitely get it next time it happens. Thanks for the help.
