Is there a way to access the .mod file for adventures and such purchased through Steam? I'd like to be able to replace some maps in the actual package with maps I've done myself. The battle maps are nice and all, and I don't have to worry about using GIMP to "erase" the location identifiers on the map, but sometimes the map is cropped too much. For example, in the Great Upheaval chapter of SKT, try running the Elf Ears part of the story. Place all of the orcs on the battlemap and see how well you can run the encounter if they can't get in through the main gate.

You can't access the module directly, but you can unlock story entries and change links to point to your new map. FG will remember your changes within that campaign between sessions. Just be careful with any updates that you don't use the Revert () option because that will leave your maps there but will "undo" any changes you made to the base module.

Would it be any different if I purchased the content through FG directly?

Nope. It's exactly the same format on the FG web store as it is on Steam. The content is encrypted and you can't directly access the base material. You'll need to make changes in your gaming campaign, as Doug mentioned.

As an aside, you might find some of these maps useful: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?34534-Storm-King-s-Thunder-Maps

If you read the attachment on post #1 here (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?33538-Adventure-Module-Creation-Best-Practices), you will find some instruction on how to make a module that modifies an official module so that you can re-use it.
