View Full Version : Client Crashing When Trying to Load 5e DMG

Hello,

I (or rather my players) have been having an issue where, when they are connected to me and try to load the DMG for 5e, their client freezes and eventually crashes when they try to load the DMG module. One of these players owns the module and has no issue loading it locally but can't load it when connected to my game.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you fix it? Your help and advice would be most appreciated.

Don't share the DMG with your players. It's really big.

I gather that it's big but it would be rather convenient, particularly during character creation of higher level characters, if my players could look at the magic item list and just tell me "I want that, this, these, and those" without me having to go through the whole list and pick out items I think they might want.

They cant. It will crash their client.

Add all the things you want to share as links to a story entry, right click and chose the command of something like share all links, then share the story entry to your players.

OMG THAT IS SO USEFUL!!!

Thank you both so much. It's not a perfect solution but its a great work around.

As a request to the developers: It would be super nice if I could just share chunks of these large modules. Kinda like how volos has a "player" module that goes with it. Ideally, it would be nice to open a module on the DM side and right-click a section on the library window (say equipment for instance) and have an option to share to players.

Just throwing that out there. This will suit my purposes for now.
