Hey folks. Is there a quick and easy way to convert a PC to an NPC?

Depends on what ruleset you are using?

The ruleset is 5e.

Just take control of the PC yourself (assuming you are the DM)

You can right click on a PC in the Character Selection window to take ownership, so that players can't select that PC. When you add them to the combat tracker, just set there faction to foe (red), instead of friendly (green).
There are no rules or guidance in 5E for converting PCs to NPCs, or vice versa.

I agree. I find the more fleshed out form is more to my liking, especially if it is more involved with the characters. The existence of the log can be very useful to make notes to keep entanglements and the NPC's schemes straight.
