Hi can anyone of any level take a potion and use its effects? Specifically ones that use a spell as its effect. ? ie. can a non spell caster use a potion that uses a spell ? I was thinking anyone can take a potion and benefit by its effect. So asking to make sure.

Thanx..

Yes. Or No.

Up to the GM.

Potions usually allow anyone to experience the effects of the spell as if they were the target - it does not give the drinker the ability to case the spell. For some spells it makes no sense to make as a potion - for example, a potion of fireball does not give the user the ability to cast a fireball at someone (in theory it would make that person the target of the spell, but that is where individual GM/group interpretation would come in). Just like a potion of healing doesn't allow someone to cast healing on someone else but does make them the direct recipient of the healing.

It's a spell completion device with the target being the imbiber.
