Getting Russian spam responses in the comments section of my latest blog...

Any ideas? I've already deleted a few, they just keep a-comin'.

I suggest reporting the user rather than just deleting the comment. That way the user can be banned. I noticed mhorgunn (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/member.php?37310-mhorgunn) getting some last week too. But the've been getting cleaned up by someone.

Putin will issue Russian passports to you blog entries and quickly move in with the unofficial army to protect enthnic citizens against further blogging entries or edits.

It's a constant challenge of the right level of security for access vs protection. Most of the culprits seem to be Chinese or Russian spammers.

Best course of action is to use the "Report" button - *once* only per spamming user please, not once per spam post. All of the moderators get an email per report and we jump on them pretty quickly - banning the spammer and deleting all of their posts.

The issue with the system and spam on the blogs that I have is that, unlike spam on the Forums, there is no "Spam-O-Matic" option when you go to delete the offending reply/spam.

Any chance of getting this option added in, Doug?

At the moment we've got to go into the Forum Admin site and ban the user there (which is what I've been doing).

I'm from NY. My best friend is from Queens Village. We know people who knew Father and Son. I work with people now who know/socialized with him in past 30 years, a certain deadbeat was the butt of many many jokes at the gaming table (~1984+ version of our group).

Actually, true story (BELIEVE me...oh, too much?): we had a near pathological liar friend of my QV pal who otherwise was mostly a good guy (eventually he crossed some lines and got booted after 2 years) and HE would trash this guy's honesty and ethics. This sort of calling out coming this guy was hilarious, however much the table agreed with it.


So ya... we could do much worse.
Of course, Putin is a good guy and I have no beef with him. *sweats* Nope, none... he looks great without his shirt. My girlfriend once told me I should be more like Putin (oddball reference, if you get it...)
