View Full Version : PAR5E: adding a stat block to a spell

Hi all.

Is there a way to add an npc/monster stat block into a spell description in the spells.txt file? I'm parsing some Deep Magic materials to use in my D&D campaign, and there is a spell (Call the Hunter) that summons a named construct that has its own npc/monster-style stat block.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

No but you can include a link to the NPC.

You would want the summoned creature as an NPC anyway so a link is probably the better choice anyway.

Can I link to the NPC directly from the spells.txt file? If so, could someone please share with me the syntax of how that is done?

Thank you.

Yes, it's #zl;npc;name_of_npc or #zal;npc;name_of_npc. The first one is if you are linking to an NPC in the same campaign; the latter if you are linking to an NPC that's in another module (which would have to be open for the link to work).

That worked great. Thank you so much.
