Greetings,

I have so far just looked into some examples of rulesets and learned that you can base rulesets on the CoreRPG ruleset.
Now, what I did not found out if that means you just copy the ruleset and create the changes within, or if you can inherit the CoreRPG ruleset and all its abilities so that you also will get updates for CoreRPG into your own ruleset without having to copy them over manually into your ruleset?

Some hints to some examples or guides for that would be welcome and I promise I will bug you with more questions soon then ;)

Welcome Thrawn21

You don't want to modify CoreRPG directly, but build a layered ruleset on top of this. The thread here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?19033-Modifying-the-3-5e-PFRPG-ruleset give some pointers to get going, using the 3.5E ruleset as an example - but you can apply the principles to most rulesets.

Another example to look at is damned's excellent MoreCore ruleset: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?34860-MoreCore-Ruleset

As Trenloe says, checkout MoreCore. Damned has done a really good job of making it functional so that all you have to do is make a theme to set it up for many different game systems. It may get you what you want in a fraction of the time.

Hi Thrawn21 you may even find that using MoreCore will do what you need or can be extended to do what you need.
