This is the second in a series I'm working on (see: Extension-5E-Theme-FG-Pro (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?35556-Extension-5E-Theme-FG-Pro))

This is a different look. I tried to add in some more contrast, as that seemed to be the biggest complaint with my first skin. Take a look and let me know what you think. All constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated!.

2016/12/30 : v0.1.0 : initial release
2017/01/02 : v0.1.1 : fixed Modifiers, Effects and Party Sheet Encounters Font colors, as well as a few misc. button fixes.
2017/02/12 : v2.0.0 : Thanks to Dulux-Oz, this is now compatible with his extensions (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20320-FG-3-0-CoreRPG-Extensions&p=242586&viewfull=1#post242586), and the coding is greatly simplified (so different, it's now at v2.0.0). * This appears to be compatible with the 3.2.3 update (If you discover otherwise, please post in this thread)
2017/02/25 : v2.1 : Fixed an issue with the weapons and equipment sub-windows. I’m sure that is the last problem that will ever be found with this extension (he said knowingly) - Thanks to Lord Gwydion and Rob2EE for the continuing feedback
2017/07/15 : v2.2 : Fixed magnifying glass icon
2017/07/15 : v2.3 : Revised "blank link" icon to be more visible (thanks for pointing this out El Condoro)
2017/09/11 : v2.4 : Fixed chatboxhilight (thanks for pointing this out BGHurt)

2018/01/14 : THIS EXTENSION IS NOW OPEN SOURCE AND FOR THE TIME BEING I WILL NOT BE DIRECTLY SUPPORTING THIS EXTENSION, PLEASE SEE HERE (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?41922-GAP-amp-PRO-Themes-now-open-source&p=371779#post371779) FOR UP TO DATE INFORMATION (THANKS FOR ALL OF THE SUPPORT). Ahh, thanks! I was looking at the Pro theme earlier but the grayscale colors put me off, this is much nicer (to me, at least).

I play on a giant 4k monitor, so with the Wizards theme I had to run scaleui at 150 to be able to read the hotbars and other text easily. With this theme, I can set it back to 100 and still make everything out crisp and clean.

I like this. As mentioned, I had issues with the contrast also but this is much more comfortable on my eyes. Don't get me wrong, the Pro theme was very well done, but it just wasn't for me. Nice job on GAP!

No problem, let me know how you like it in action...

I knew the Pro theme was only going to work for a tiny amount of people, and it was frankly an easy way to figure out how to make a custom theme. Now that I have all of the resources organized, it's not that large of a task to make these up. I think this one took me a total of about 8 hours or so. I've got ideas for some other themes, I'll chip away at them over the next few months.

This is SUPER nice. I like the pro theme, but this seems to fit better with more settings. (The PRO seemed a bit Sci-Fi/orwellian)

Great work!

Why do I get that same feeling as that time when my German friends made me insult the bartender's mother instead of order a beer?

I will just wear my internet lingo naivete as a badge of honor then.

Ha! Those seem like great friends!

There was no intention for the name, I just needed something to put in the logo, and if it was 3 letters, all the better. My daughter noticed the little "gaps" in the hot key bar, which stuck. Also, the color scheme is basically all "khaki", so Zacchaeus' guess is not too far off either.

I love it! Thanks so much for building this for the community. I just purchased this with a little donation at the DMSguild. Right now my favorite setup is this GAP skin combined with the 14 point clear font extension and core sidebar for 5e. I love the clean look of the skin you created, but also like a little color added with the sidebar extension. Combine that with a little larger, clean font and we have a winner for me at least! Looking forward to seeing what my players think of it when I show them the new view. Thanks again, great work!

Another nice theme extension ll00ll00ll00ll. I suspect this theme will blend really well in Windows 10. I like the flat-look style. With a few tweaks, this would make a super nice theme for a Star Trek, Traveller or even a CyberPunk 2020 game. As you said, now that you have a couple under your belt, making variations is much faster. Keep it up.

^^^^ 1000 X this. He was more patient then I would expect anyone to be (there were about 6 extensive revisions to get it working right). And yes, I think I'm starting to get the idea behind merging. Also, I took some of your previous advice and eliminated whole .xml files from the extension. Where possible I opted for a straight resource replacement. This generally worked well, and I think I can do some more simplification in future updates with a little bit better pre-planning and some non-significant re-designs.

Good to hear. This is how you learn in the FG community: hands-on. No one really knows what they are doing when they begin. (I think this is why community members are so helpful; we've all been there.)

Actually yes, but it gets into a lot of weird design challenges. They're not impossible to overcome, but at the moment I've got a lot of work stuff happening, so I can't dedicate the time right now. My primary goal with both of the themes I've made was to make them user friendly for small / single monitor situation (i.e.: laptops). Part of what I ended up liking least about the Wizards theme is that it is very bright and a strain on my eyes when reading for extended periods. I think my PRO theme is a bit of an overreaction to that (it's a little too low contrast). In any event I will hopefully be able to dedicate some time to a few more themes towards the end of the year, and a higher contrast version is on my short list.

This is a great extension - so clear and crisp. Well done and thank you.

These are only personal preferences, but I'll put them out there:
the faction shading (green, red, yellow) seems too dark - a lighter shade would make the text 'pop' more
the heading text on RTF sheets doesn't stand out enough (I wonder if black would stand out more than the dark green)

As I said, personal preferences. The extension is otherwise so much clearer to read.

Thanks for the compliments and the constructive criticism. When I am able to dig back into this later this year I will take all of this under advisement.

I'd like to make something that's more "fantasy based", but ultimately my preference will always go towards a "flat" design. I know these aren't for everyone, but I figure if I make something that is legible on my 15" laptop, then it should work when scaled up to 2 monitors. My first two themes were more of an exercise in understanding how to modify themes, they're less concerned with "design". Now that I've pretty much got my resource files all setup, they're fairly simple to modify, my intention is to spend some more time on the actual artwork.

If anyone out there has the ability to work with Adobe Illustrator files, I'll gladly send you the source files that generated these two themes. Just PM me, they're too big to upload here, also I would have to explain how I have them organized. If you can't use Illustrator, then you're probably better off working directly from the graphics included in the actual extension.

Looks like there is a file missing? fgpro_graphics/chatboxhilight.png

I get an error when i open up console from the graphics directory. I looked for the file in the ext and there is none by that name.

Don't think its an issue, just thought I would mention it, or maybe I am doing something wrong?

Yep, you're right. I just uploaded version 2.4, which should fix this. Let me know if I left anything else out (overtime I "fix" something, I seem to break several other things!)

Hi Twitch and welcome to FG

When you say you are trying to open the extension what do you mean? The extension isn't meant to be opened. You place it in your extensions folder in FGData and then start FG. Below your campaign list will be a list of extensions, select the check box next to this one and then press start.

If you want to see inside the extension you'll need to put it in a folder somewhere and then change the .ext to .zip and then unzip the folder. Inside there will be files that you can load into a text editor to look at the code and various graphics files.

Love the GAP theme, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with Warrior-Priest's "5E - Remove all foes with 0 HP" extension.

Would like to be able to use both. Perhaps you could work together to resolve the incompatibility.

First of all thank you for this superb extension.
I just have one question, I'm using Dulux-Oz's Location and Organizations mod, and the Icons are not matching the new theme.
Is there a loading order or dependency what should be set, or is it intentional?

To have the theme stay consistent across that particular extension the author will need to provide icons to Dulux and he can incorporate them...

Hey all, maybe I'm blind? I do not see a download link for the theme anywhere. What do?

As answered above, this is now "Theme - Simple Brown", available in your "Campaign Details" window when setting the options for your campaign. This was once available as a separate downloadable theme, but supporting it grew out of my abilities, and so t was given to Fantasy Grounds, who now keep it wonderfully functioning with all of their system upgrades.
