Did you add these to the FG "wishlist"?

Hey Evion. It might be better to list our these things, as they have to be written done to be tracked anyway. And going through a 25 minute video takes a lot more time than reading them.

Also,
Suggestions are best added to the wishlist; https://fg2app.idea.informer.com/
Problems are best reported in the House of Healing (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?41-The-House-of-Healing)
Bugs are best reported in the stickied bug thread for the relevant ruleset, such as the 5E Bug Thread (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?34656-5e-Bug-Reports-(Continued))

Ok, let's see if we can help you. Firstlly there is a learning curve and you are doing a lot of things wrong which is the cause of most of your problems. I'd suggest that you read the user guide (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/filelibrary/FantasyGroundsUserManual.pdf) and also several of the Wiki articles especially the ones on character creation (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/5E_Character_Sheet) and the Combat Tracker (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/5E_Combat_Tracker).

Next you did everything from the DM screen; in order to see what the player sees you should start a second instance of Fantasy Grounds and join your own game using 'localhost' for the Host address. This will allow you to see why certain things like attacks etc are done via the character sheet.

To address your specific problems in the order they came up in your video.

The character sheet is not a character creator. Therefore whilst some things are automated others are not. One such is Hit points. You do these manually; this allows users greater flexibility rather than enforcing how many hit points the Character has. It is recommended that you create characters via drag and drop. If you don't then everything is manual; so manually increasing the characters level won't do anything except add one to the level. You'll then need to go look up your book to see what else happens when you level up. Using drag and drop however the abilities you get are automatically added to your character in the abilities tab of the character sheet. This is way superior to doing it manually.
The critical damage bug has already been identified and is fixed in the next version of the software which should be released shortly. It is currently in test (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?35553-Test-Release-v3-2-2).
To place an effect on the character you only need a single click on the effect if the effect has been set to target SELF. Reading the effects article linked above will help you understand effects. If the target is set to targets then a single click will apply the effect to the target provided you have one selected. No need to drag and drop if you don't want to. There are certain situations where it is necessary to drag and drop but mostly there isn't
Not everything is automated. So dragging and dropping any spell into a character will create the effects most of the abilities won't. So you need to learn the effects and learn how to use them.
To move the map like you want to click on the small icon at the bottom right of the map, hold and move the mouse around.
Whilst in the player screen you click on the players portrait at the top of the screen to access the character sheet; you can access the character sheet from the Combat tracker only if you are the DM.
What is on the map is not the character but a token that represents the character; so double clicking etc won't do anything. (I am really glad I don't use whetever you were talking about with the right clicks bringing up a plethora of menus for attacks - that would be a nightmare). FG does attack and damage much more elegantly as you'll see.
When you put tokens on a map ALWAYS drag from the Combat Tracker. If you do not then you won't be able to target properly. So drag from the encounter or PC tab onto the Combat tracker and then onto the map.
If the players and NPCs are correctly placed on the map then you target by holding CTRL and left click on the target; you can select multiple targets by keeping hold of CTRL and left clicking all the targets you want.
Then you can make an attack simply by double clicking on the attack and then if you hit by double clicking the damage. OR you can drag the attack or damage onto the target either on the CT or on the map and drop the dice. This will ONLY WORK if you do things properly.
Read the wiki article above to find out how to add powers. You are not doing it properly. You need to add a name for the power group (right hand box) and then you will get the editing magnifying glass.
You only have the SRD for NPCs and that does not include any of the artwork which is only found in the Monster Manual PHB etc. Hence the reason why you only get basic tokens for the NPCs

If I have missed anything out please post here (rather than another video - I watched it this time but probably won't watch another).

Open the second instance directly from the fg.exe in the Program Files (x86)/Fantasy Grounds folder. You can create a shortcut for it on your desktop or wherever so that you can use it more easily.

Launch it from the executable in the FG program folder. Launching from desktop is the one with Steam enabled. So, 1 from Steam and 1 from executable, or 2 from executable will work for ya.

Hey Evion the learning will probably continue for quite a while yet. But also remember you dont have to use all the functionality right away (or even ever). Start small - master combat and build from there.

If you right click on the exe and create shortcut I think it will prompt you to put it on the desktop instead. You can launch either from teher or from Steam - but if you want two instances at least one of them will need to be via this shortcut or the exe directly.

You can start another instance of FG once the first is running. Right-click on the FG running application icon in the windows task bar and select "Fantasy Grounds".
