I'm looking to add a 3rd monitor (32" full hd tv) to my set up.
Here's my machine: Hp Model 500-214 with a NVidia GeForce GT 630 and upgraded power supply.
I know I'll probably need a new video card and a hdmi adapter. I have a $700 budget.
My question is, how would you make this happen if you were me?

Looking at the specs (https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-630/specifications) for the card, you are right that you won't be able to do 3 monitors at HD. But you probably have onboard graphics that you could use for the third monitor. Depends on if you intend to do gamin on all three monitors or not. Some (old) discussion about this technique here; https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27906949-Which-nVidia-cards-support-3-independent-displays

If you want all 3 on your graphics card, you'll want to look for another PCI Express card that does. I like NVidia.
Here's some info from NVidia on this, https://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/surround/system-requirements
It has a configuration tool at the bottom so you can figure things out, though it is designed to start with the graphics card, you can reverse it to find a card by playing with it.

Finally, here's another good discussion you might want to read; https://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2036327/graphics-card-monitors.html

$700 to go trips? If your already upgraded power supply can handle the new card, you might end up with a lot of money left over. You can probably get a 770 off ebay for $100, which is fine for triple screen FG and will run games great on a single screen. And you can often find inexpensive monitors if you surf around.

Or look at the newer cards like the 1050i. $130-ish or so, good specs and uses half the power of your older card so less power, less fan noise. It's not top of the line, but it's noticeably better than your older card. If I remember (and I may not LOL) you're not much for PC gaming so you don't need a 1070 or 1080. Though I love my 1070 I just got a couple weeks ago.

The new AMD 460 to 480 series and the Nvidia 1060 to 1080 (have not looked at the 1050i) all should be easily able to handle 3 screens for web surfing or Fantasy Grounds. Just make sure the needed ports are on it.

I fool around a little with VR so I got a 1070. But way more card than needed for FG.
