I have an interesting problem. you see I am a d and d noob who knows way to much about the game not to have been playing for a bit. I know... why is this a problem. the problem is I want to make content for d and d because i love it, and I absolutely am a noob. the reason i know so much is the fact I would watch character build videos from dawn forge and since he 90's have been trying to get a chance to play the game for reals. everytime was a failure though. only realy got three sessions between two years. so my point is I still want to make content. I just don't know a class feat from a hole in the ground. can you guys help me. lol.

Welcome K Drive. Paper content, or virtual content is always wanted. To make paper and publish see dmsguild.com. To make virtual start with the 5e demo to learn this amazing program. it is here; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?28150-New-5E-Sample-Campaign-Tutorial-Available. Then after you make it you can play test.

Welcome to the community:)

What type of content do you want to make? Do you have stories you want to tell? Do you have a concept for a great adventure? A location like a village or an old castle that is haunted? Spells, or...?

So, as gq says, the DMsGuild is a great place to start publishing your own content. You can also make FG content available here. And just digital content can be distribute for free through places like ENWorld and reddit.

If you can tell us a bit more about just what you had in mind, we can help direct you to more sources.

Also, if you want to play, check out the Game Organization (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?76-Game-Organization) forums here. You'll find lots of opportunities to play. Also, January 7th is the next FGDaze (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?97-FGDaze), where you can sign up for various one-shot games in an online convention type format.

Download the 5e Basic Rules (Free) PDF and get stuck into that. It will tell you a lot of the basics of the game and its mechanics.
Have fun!

thank you guys. I like how helpful you've been so far. there are some classes/races I want to create from some novels I was going to write. this would cement them in place as mine easily. I think I have five or six "angeloid" races. 90% of them have nothing to do with hevean or hell though. and three more races from stuff I've tried on top of that. then I got one class to put out there. this is from novels I have been writing for a while but haven't gotten out there because of schizoaffective and possible summer sad.

5E D&D?

If so, you can get the basic rules for free. Just go here for both the player and dungeon master rules; https://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/basicrules

Hobbit, the lord or the rings, the belgarid, the spook series, Harry potter, the Bible, tales of earthsea, wotc novels, ... Read everything to be the best story teller. Why are the best stories told by old farts? The have observed and learned so much. Who would be the best cooking teacher? A cook. Now go cook the books.;)
