Adventure Cards

Question - if I get the Adventure cards, is it possible to replace the graphic on them with my own custom ones? (via editing XML, I presume there isn't a nice cool "customize" button?)

It shouldn't affect play unless the cards themselves are actually automated when used, which I doubt.

Some cards are automated.
As for customization, it comes with a pdf manual that takes you through the step by step to insert your own cards. Easy and straightforward, just time consuming.

It is creating the actual cards that takes most of the time. It is worth it though to have cards that fit the setting.
