Hi.

I have put some products for FG on my wishlist.... Now my wife ask me how to get them for me as a gift.

I have bought all my FG stuff via the FG site and NOT from Steam. I read someplace that mixing things from the FG store and Steam is a bad idea. That WAS the easiest way though, as we both have a Steam account.

If you were wondering these are on my list in priority:

It is best to get 5e stuff all from one site to avoid hassles when completing bundles.

From one who got similar goodies in her stocking this year, you picked a good one, btw. Perhaps she could just leave you a note in a card of what she picked for you, then pay for it next time you are on?

Either way, a significant other who gifts FG is a keeper!

You used to be able to buy gift vouchers with PayPal but since there were so many problems with them Smiteworks have discontinued their use (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?34537-Gift-Certificates-will-no-longer-be-available).

So your only option would seem to be Steam (unless you are running on a mac in which case Steam is not an option for DLC).

If you are on a PC there's no reason at all why you can't mix and match purchases from Smiteworks and Steam. Not all products are on Steam (as far as I know). I've certainly got many products from both sources and none of it is a problem. The only thing you need to do is to check the box in settings so that FG looks through Steam to find any products that you have bought via Steam for the purpose of updating them (or downloading them in the first place).

Awesome thanks for the info both of you. I'm a PC owner, so I think I'm good :).

She is indeed a keeper LindSayFan ;). She even plays RPG, boardgames and PC games with me :P. I'm one lucky guy :).

I'm encountering a similar problem in that my relations never know what to gift me so I often receive steam credits. However, since I purchased FG through smiteworks directly, steam says that I don't own the software and need to buy it before I can purchase the DLC. Is there a way around that?
