I just discovered that anything inside of [] (square brackets) does not output to a story if it is the text inside a table cell.

Is that expected?

FG expects anything within square brackets in a table to either be the name of another table or a dice expression. If it's neither then it won't return anything. If you want to output text don't put it any kind of brackets.
