Hello everybody,

do you know City of Mist (https://cityofmist.sonofoak.com/download/)?

Investigate strange cases and unleash legendary powers in this noir tabletop RPG, set in a city populated by modern-day legends.

in this post you will find the two modules for the "Starter Set" and the Adventure "V is for going viral"

The first will add the Starter Set of City Of Mist to FG as an Reference for easy lookup during play.

The second will add the adventure, the pregenerated characters and images and tokens for play.
It also adds all moves as rolls and all tags as modifiers for easy drag and drop to the chracter sheet.

To use the module at least Version 1.33 of the morecore rulset and Version 1.09 of the theme Extension is needed.

Thanks Again for Amit Moshe for the permission to use Material from City Of Mist.

UPDATE 23.11.2016: Replaced the File CoMStarter.mod with the one that has NPCs/Dagers in it.
UPDATE 24.11.2016: Added additional adventure module Demons in Cross End

I wanted to thank you for the work on this, Imiri. We had a need for a pickup game this weekend and I ran City of Mist (the V adventure) for a group of four. Everyone had a great time as they brought Salamander, Excalibur, Kitsune, and Post-Mortem to life. (Kitsune's scenes were to die for.)

I am positive I made a hash of the rules, but it was a session which offered tremendous fun.

I was also convinced to Kickstart this game because damned brought it to my attention over on the FG-Con G+ group, so hurrah for that as well! :)

One of my players was extremely complimentary of the theme as well. :D

Great success!

Thanks for your kind words.
The best thing that can happen is actually someone making use of your work and enjoing it.

Good to know there is a FG-Con Group on G+ - will look it up.

And You are the first to have Kitsune on board. Never saw her played and be glad it was such a huge success.

I like the look of this, quite interesting. Although I am curious, how do you embed images into the Story?

Hi Tailz - I just realised you sent me something to review and I havent done it! Soooo many balls in the air. Ill get it back on my to do list!

There is some brief info here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Reference_Manuals about the xml coding for the fancy layouts Ive used in this starter set.
They make a big difference to the readability / usability of the reference materials.

To clarify - this functionality is not available in campaign Story entries, it is just currently available in library reference manual pages.

It is.
And besides the starter the core is out - you can use the extension for the core as well but it would profit from some adjustments.

Work to be done when I find the time for it.

I've been considering running this, any thoughts in regards to how it plays, on FG or otherwise?

You should run it. It's great I really like it a lot. For me it is a almost perfect fusion of FATE and PbtA and the adjustment of both to a genre I really like.

Want exactly do you mean with "how it plays"?

I meant that question in the most general sense, but I'll be specific about my biggest concern: does it have legs as a campaign? I feel a lot of PbtA stuff tends towards short campaigns where things progress rapidly to a head, or are meant to be an iterative process where the campaign may go on, but specific characters get rotated out by the mechanics more than the plot.

Unfortunately I only do have experience with the system as one shots.
Therefore I am surely not the most qualified person to answer this particular question.

My own campaign got delayed till January, afterwards I might give you a better qualified answer.

It does have a particular character development bulid in that should - at least in theory - address those longtime issues some of the mentioned games have.

UPDATE 23.11.2016: Replaced the File CoMStarter.mod with the one that has NPCs/Dagers in it.
UPDATE 24.11.2016: Added additional adventure module Demons in Cross End
In the first post there are:
- a file named "CoMCrossEnd", which is clearly an adventure;
- then there are two similar named files (City of Mist Starter Set.mod and CoMStarter.mod): which one is the true "Starter Set"? And what's the other one?

Anyway, I launched the "City of Mist Starter Set" module and the "V is for going Viral" module, but when I click on any red Star of any pre-generated Character this is the bug issued: 33836

As far as I remember is that the starter set buts the booklet into your library as reference.
The starter gives you the first case and the characters.

But a few warnings.
The starter is not the all seeing eye investigation starter kit for sale on drivethrurpg or roll20.
It is based on the original starter from 2016 which got an updated layout and is now called Qickstart - but it is still free.

It was developed for a rather old version of FG and also morecore.
I checked a few days ago and it still seemed to work with FGC. Did not try FGU and it was just a quick look if it still opens not a full testing of every function.
